Inuyasha is about a 15 year old girl named Kagome.On her 15th birthday,Kagome falls down a well trying to get her cat back but a demon named Mistress Centipede pulls her into the well.Mistress Centipede keeps talking about the jewel and Kagome has no idea what she's talking about.Kagome gets away from her because this pink light comes out of her hand(basically,it's miko(priestess)power)and makes the demon lose one of her many arms.She lands up in the Feudal Era and gets to the God Tree.There she sees Inuyasha pinned to the tree by an arrow(and he's like in a sleep).Then villagers mistake her for a witch of some kind and take her to the village.A miko called Kaede comes and then figures out she isn't a witch.Then Mistress Centipede comes back and is after Kagome.Kagome runs to the God Tree shouting that she needs help and thats when Inuyasha wakes up.He thinks she's this miko named Kikyo who had pinned him to the tree.Kagome looks a lot like her.Well long story short,Inuyasha and Kagome exchange some words and then he figures out that she isn't Kikyo!Then Mistress Centipede comes and Kagome does the pink light thing again and knocks off some more arms.Then Mistress centipede attacks Kagome and this Jewel comes out of Kagomes side!Mistress Centipede takes it and becomes this ugly thing..its gross.Inuyasha tells Kagome he can kill it as long as he gets the arrow out of him.So Kagome lets it out and Inuyasha kills the demon!Yay!But then he kind of...well...tries to kill Kagome...but that's epsidoe one.
Now,more of a summary!Kikyo and Inuyasha 50 years ago were in love.She was taking care of this thief who had gotten burnt named Onigumo.He loved her,but he knew Inuyasha had Kikyo's heart.Inuyasha i only hlf demon and he wanted it so he could become whole demon,Kikyo asked him to turn human for her so the jewel would be rid of and so that way she could have a normal life,Inuyasha said yes and she says she'll give him the jewel the next day.The jewel is called the Jewel of Four Souls or the Shikon No Tama in japanese.It can make you stronger or grant you any wish.Anyway,Onigumo also knew that Kikyo was guarding the jewel and he wanted that too.He let demons eat his body making Onigumo into a demon(well half)named Naraku which means hell in japanese.Naraku made himself look like Inuyasha and attacked Kikyo.Kikyo then thought it was Inuyasha,which made it seem like she was betrayed by the man she loved.Kikyo gets vengeful and when she sees Inuyasha,she pins him to the tree and he goes into an eternal sleep,but just not dead.Kikyo's wounds are too serious and she dies.She asks for her little sister Kaede(mwahaha,yes the old woman in the show is Kikyo's little sister,remember!When Kagome comes,it's been 50 years!)to cremate her body and with the jewel inside her too.Kikyo dies and thats the end of that.Now,Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo,which is why she had the jewel in her side.But she then breaks it trying to kill a demon crow,and it shatters into these little shards.Inuyasha and Kagome go off for them because one shard can make a demon stronger by 10 times.They meet Shippu,Miroku,and Sango later on in the story line.Anyway,thats basically it.
